Following the success of the first-ever WellBeing Pilot to support the mental resilience, confidence and wellbeing of small business owners in Jersey, the programme will be relaunched as from 1st January 2021. Created by WellBeing World, the soon to be launched WellBeing Reimagined Toolkit will be made available for individuals, small businesses and corporates and their employees.
The original Pilot was funded through the generous support of a Local Foundation to support the health and wellbeing of small business owners and entrepreneurs to help them develop the mental resilience to rebuild their businesses following the initial shock of COVID-19. It comprised a structured wellbeing programme to specifically deal with stress/anxiety, overwhelm, guilt, decision making, and to enhance self-care, avoid burnout, and rebuild confidence.
In just three months, the WellBeing Pilot resulted in a marked improvement in levels of stress, anxiety and resilience with small business owners reporting that, as a result of the Pilot, they felt better equipped to focus with a clear mind on the needs of their business. Some of the feedback included:
“The WellBeing Pilot Scheme has turned my life around.”
“I credit the WellBeing Pilot Scheme with saving my business from getting dangerously close to disappearing altogether.”
“The WellBeing Pilot has made a dramatic difference to my situation.” “I can’t begin to tell you how this scheme has turned things around for me. I finally feel like I’m on the right path.”
“My ability to think productively, clearly and without fear has resurfaced … my business has increased.”
“I have new tools to use when the overwhelm starts to kick in.”
“When I started my appointments through the Well Being Pilot Scheme I honestly didn’t have much hope that anything could change for me. Little did I know! I was amazed at the amount of options available to support us through our daily lives and to help us live our best life.”
“I feel more focused on my business now than I ever have.”
“The access to the Thrive App has been a game changer for me. I use it daily and have a weekly session with the online coach. The access to the meditations and CBT programme are enormously helpful tools to reskill and realign my mind to enable me to focus on goal setting in my business and a reminder of the self-care and support l need right now.”
Many participants experienced a re-connection which they felt had been lost during lockdown. This enabled them to turn things around for themselves and for their business. To help someone out of that space is invaluable and changes lives for the better.
The WellBeing Reimagined Toolkit will include the NHS approved mental health app, Thrive, to provide in-depth tools to detect, prevent and treat anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions.
It will also include a wide range of health and wellbeing practitioner services from Life Coaching, Counselling, CBT, NLP, EFT Tapping, Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Natural Bioenergetics, Massage, Indian Head Massage, Sleep Consultancy, Nutrition, to Forest Therapy, Yoga, Pilates, Exercise Referral, and Personal Training; together with a comprehensive library of additional resources, including meditations and useful reference material from previous editions of WellBeing World magazine.
Beverley Le Cuirot, Founder of WellBeing World and co-creator of the WellBeing Pilot said: “Supporting the health and wellbeing of all individuals continues to be of paramount importance given the increase in mental health issues, fear and isolation. As a society, we continue to experience collective stress and anxiety like never before, and therefore this additional support for lives and livelihoods is vital, especially so as we look ahead to what is proving already to be a long winter for many.
“We are very grateful to the Foundation for enabling us to prove the concept through the WellBeing Pilot, and we are delighted now to be able to offer the Toolkit to individuals, other small business owners, and corporates for their employees.”
