25 businesses, groups or individuals from Jersey and Guernsey have been shortlisted in 12 categories for the Leaders in WellBeing Awards 2020, many with multiple nominations. In total, more than 70 nominations were received.

The Leaders in WellBeing Awards were created last year to celebrate the growing wellbeing related activities of organisations and individuals in the Channel Islands; including corporates, entrepreneurs, health and wellbeing practitioners, government departments, schools, and not-for-profit organisations.

Founder of Leaders in WellBeing, and Director of WellBeing World and WellBeing At Work, Beverley Le Cuirot commented: “The pandemic has heightened universal awareness for the importance of health and wellbeing exponentially, and forever. Not only is it essential, the right thing to do for our employees and citizens, it has shown to be critical to a high functioning business, and a major contributing factor to positive social and economic recovery.

“We are especially encouraged to see how this will continue as governments and leading employers put wellbeing front and centre of their strategic initiatives, to ensure their teams are resilient, clear headed, and confident in resolving issues, and that above all, they remain calm in the face of ongoing challenges.

“The onus is also on each one of us to take personal responsibility for our own wellbeing. Talking about entrepreneurship recently in the Everbridge COVID 19 ‘Road to Recovery’ webinar, Sir Richard Branson said: ‘Most of the problems in the world can be fixed if every individual determinedly finds the time for themselves, for the health of their bodies, and they maintain a healthy work-life balance, supported by their family, friends or community.’ This in turn is augmented when businesses are led from the front by compassionate leaders, actively listening to their employees and customers, to ensure people feel safe, seen, heard, and valued.

“The Leaders in WellBeing Awards highlight the various dimensions of social, physical, mental, emotional, financial, intellectual, vocational, community and environmental wellbeing, and recognise employers and individuals alike. We are honoured to be able to stage these Awards and so very grateful to our sponsors, to our Main Sponsor, HSBC, and to our Awards Sponsor, Rossborough Healthcare, for their generous and continued support,” added Mrs Le Cuirot.

Kim Davies, Corporate Health and Wellbeing Manager at Awards Sponsor, Rossborough Healthcare International Limited, said “We are delighted to once again support this fantastic event and this year sponsor the Awards. In a year of such significant change, recognising the achievements of those individuals and organisations who are having such a positive influence on health and wellbeing on our corporate and personal agendas, is more important than ever.”
