Local firms WellBeing At Work, ASL Executive Services, Rossborough Healthcare and Future Health, with the support of Ogier, Elian and Standard Bank are coming together in November on National Stress Awareness Day to hold the first-ever St Helier Roadshow to promote workplace wellness. Wednesday, 2nd November 2016 marks the 19th National Stress Awareness Day in the UK.  Held annually on the first Wednesday in November, the day was created by the International Stress Management Association (ISMA) to ensure that the topic of stress, its cause and prevention, would remain high on the national agenda.

Whilst the business case for stress management remains the same as it was in 1998, in 2016 there is an even greater need to manage stress effectively as mental health issues made worse by stress are now better diagnosed and publicised.  Technology and the impact of the 24/7 society is one of the main reasons why stress needs to be managed effectively and sits high on the agenda of all businesses.
As an organisation’s most valuable resource, it is difficult, costly, or often impossible, to replace this human asset; which makes ‘workforce wellness’ even more of a business imperative for business leaders to embrace.
In 2014/15 the total number of working days lost in the UK due to stress was 9.9million days. Issues at work are the main cause of stress reported by patients in the doctor’s surgery.
In their 55 minute presentation workshop, entitled ‘Prevention Better Than Cure’, Beverley Le Cuirot of WellBeing At Work, Edith Coleman of ASL Executive Services, and Richard Clarke and Jennifer Gouyet of Rossborough Healthcare will present the latest on employee wellbeing; a holistic approach to leadership and benefits to employee engagement; they will consider the financial benefits of getting it right; and they will help attendees to design their own roadmap to achieve their aims.  They will be supported by Magda Bochen of Future Health with a short demonstration of the benefits of stretch at work.
Designed for HR Professionals and Line Managers in all sectors, for organisations large and small, the presentations will be held at a choice of three different venues in St Helier and at three different times:
• 8am for 8.30am to 9.25am – ASL, 2-6 Church Street
• 12 for 12:30pm to 1.25pm – Ogier | Elian, 44 Esplanade
• 3pm for 3:30pm to 4.25pm – Standard Bank House, 47-49 La Motte Street
The presentations are free of charge to attend.  To secure your place, please email: events@wellbeingworld.je
