A good tip from Grant Henderson of Active Ergonomics as we start another working week …
“The science of ergonomics is all about helping individuals to be more comfortable at work. Sitting at a desk for long periods is not a natural activity for your body. Here are two good tips to reduce strain on your muscles and joints:
1) At your desk, sit with your back against the backrest, and if possible tilt the backrest back by 5-10 degrees. This reduces pressure on the disks at the base of your spine.
2) Move whatever you use most close to you, either keyboard and mouse or paperwork. Bring them close so you are not stretching your arms out and straining your neck and shoulders.”
